Where the reflective vinyl version is about night-time visibility, this one is about permanence: the marking is engraved through the laminate, not printed, so it can't fade, peel, or wash off. About PV identification signs
A circular green reflective sign marked "PV" is required at the main switchboard and meter panel of every grid-connected solar installation, so emergency responders immediately know a live PV system is present before starting work.
Under AS/NZS 5033:2021, the plain "PV" mark on its own is no longer sufficient — it must carry a suffix identifying the isolation method at that point: DP (disconnection point), SW (load-break disconnection switch), or AC (microinverter system). Minimum 100mm diameter, durable for the service life of the system.
